‘Nordic Walking – The Natural Workout’ Newsletter – 2nd August 2018

Dear All,

Welcome to our five new Nordic Walking UK Freedom Passport holders who successfully completed the course on Monday 30th July.  Well done and congratulations to all of you.

Well, it’s August and the weather is holding out – just.  As a result, the walks along dirt tracks and across open fields are still accessible, which is brilliant.  The other thing I am watching is sunset times, as many of the walks are not lit.  By the end of August, it will be dark by 8pm, so they will drop off the calendar for evening walks.  Please make the most of these walks, while we can.

Speaking of walks, I was out again today reviewing and photographing another walk (Leeds-Liverpool Canal, Parbold Hill from Below & Parbold), starting in Parbold this time.  It’s now on the system for 2pm on Wednesday 15th August, which brings the number available back up to seven.  I will aim to publish the walks for the remainder of August before the next Newsletter.

The dates of my personal commitments in August and September have now been finalised.  The impact on the August walks is minimal (just Friday 10th and Sundays 12th & 19th missing) and four will be missing between 16th & 24th September.  The regular pattern of walks will start after that, with the first one on Wednesday 26th September.  I am hoping that, after that date, there will be at least two walks per week that each of you could join me for and, therefore, you would benefit financially by signing up for the direct debit option.  Remember:

  • ‘Pay as you go’ costs £6 per walk.
  • 20% discount account works out to £4.80 per walk.
  • £25 direct debit is the cheapest option if, on average, you join 5-6 walks per month, ie one per week plus another 1 or 2 in the month – 5 walks per month cost £5 each & 6 walks per month cost £4.17 each.

The 7 walks available to book are listed below.  Just follow the link to my website and you will find all of the details and photographs, and be able to book.
