‘Nordic Walking – The Natural Workout’ Newsletter – 27th September 2018

Dear All,

Well, what a fantastic week for weather.  Apart from one day, I think, it has been dry with a reasonable amount of sun.  Also, tomorrow is forecast to be wonderful, so come & join us as we support Macmillan.

What Kind of Walk?

A big thank you to those of you who have responded to my request last week.  I am looking at how best to revamp the program, but would like to hear from a few more of you before I make any changes.  That said, I want to include at least some of the changes into the program for the second half of October, so I need to do it next week.

I look forward to receiving your comments in whatever form is easiest for you – e-mail, text, piece of paper in my hand, phone.

Learn to Nordic Walk Courses

Two new members started on Tuesday afternoon, learning in the Beacon Country Park.  On Saturday morning, four more people will have their first taste of the joys and benefits of Nordic Walking, learning in Parbold.

Also, interest in the next course is coming in thick and fast and it looks like the next one will be held in the Beacon early on a Saturday afternoon, starting in the middle of October.

What’s New?

There are a few new walks included in the program now.  However, as long as the weather holds, I will continue to include the more interesting ones that head off across the fields 😊.

We still have three ‘Special’ walks on offer.  The Macmillan Big Brew Walk is tomorrow (Friday 28th September) and will do what it says on the tin – support Macmillan.  Please try to join us for what is forecast to be a very sunny walk.

The ‘Long Sunday’ Walk – Hey! Haigh! Away Day! on Sunday (30th September) is an excellent opportunity for a longer walk with a bigger group of people.  There is still plenty of time to join the walk.  However, if you would like to join us for lunch, I will need to check with the restaurant.

It is now only just over two months until Saturday 8th December, when I am planning to organise a ‘Christmas Walk & Lunch’.  Hopefully, you have put the date in your diaries.  Now, I need to know who is seriously interested in attending.  I will try to select a venue that is geographically appropriate to those who plan to attend.  The venue decision will be based on those who have contacted me by the end of next week (Saturday 6th October).
