‘Nordic Walking – The Natural Workout’ Newsletter – 23rd August 2018

Dear All,

Firstly, thank you everyone for being so understanding of my absences over the last two weekends.  It was great to get away from the computer, spend time with people I rarely see and, last weekend, get spun around the dance floor at high speed.  Dancing is my other ‘Natural Workout’ and the one in which I can just ‘switch off’.  Thank you again 😊.

Shop & Drop

The next ‘Shop & Drop’ is scheduled for delivery on Wednesday of next week (29th August).  If you want to include anything, please buy by 6pm on Monday (27th August).  As a reminder, the advantages for you are that you save the p&p (especially useful for a low-cost item) and you don’t have to wait in for the delivery.

Bank Holiday

So, we are on the run-up to the August Bank Holiday.  I will be at home and, therefore, the programme of walks will continue uninterrupted.  The ground is getting softer, but the mud is still ‘dodgable’, so the walks along the Rights of Way are still accessible.  Also, there is a rumour that the weather is due to change again and they are forecasting ‘dry & warm’ for September.  I’m not sure I believe the latter for this area, but I am hoping the former comes true.  We’ll see.

What’s New?

Welcome to our newest Nordic Walking UK Freedom Passport holder.  Well done and congratulations.  We are now 15 strong and growing with every Learn to Nordic Walk course.

I have a few new walks in the melting pot, but nothing finalised as yet.

On Tuesday, another instructor and I will be out planning a longer walk.  The plan is that it will be held on a Sunday morning next month and will finish at a venue that is suitable for lunch (eating will be optional).  As her clients will be there as well, it will be an excellent opportunity to meet new people and walk as part of a larger group.  They are a fun bunch 😊

For those of you who are, or plan to be, Sunday afternoon walkers, I will still be running my usual 4pm walk.  You could join me for both, if you wish 😊

I announced last week that the next Learn to Nordic Walk will start on Tuesday 25th September at 4.30pm in the Beacon Country Park in Up Holland.  Now, there is a second course available to book.  It will be held in Parbold and will start on Saturday 29th September at 10am.  Please spread the word.  The bigger the group, the more varied the ‘characters’, the more of a party each walk will become.

Christmas

Sorry, and I know I announced this last week, but some times it has to be mentioned in August.  I thought it would be nice to have a walk and a lunch to celebrate.  I am currently looking for suitable venues, so nothing is set, yet.  However, if you are potentially interested, please put Saturday 8th December in your diary.  The plan is to walk first and follow it with lunch at 12.30 / 1pm (ish).  Details to follow.

Walks Available to Book

Including this evening’s, there are 18 walks available to book and they are listed below.  Just follow the link to my website and you will find all of the details and photographs, and be able to book.
