‘Nordic Walking – The Natural Workout’ Newsletter – 22nd October 2018

Dear All,

What a lovely walk this morning.  The weather was perfect for it.  That extra half hour allowed us to explore some different footpaths.  We were rerouted by a really bad stretch of mud, but we still managed a circular walk, rounded off with a pot of coffee in the sunshine 😊.

New Members

Welcome to our 5 new Freedom Passport holders.  I’m looking forward to walking with you and introducing you to the rest of the team.  This is a great time of year to walk.  The Autumn colours are beautiful, the mud isn’t bad enough to make all the paths impassable, the sun shines brightly and it’s neither too hot nor too cold – perfect conditions for a walk 😊

Learn to Nordic Walk Courses

The next Learn to Nordic Walk course will start on Sunday 4th November at 2pm in the Beacon Country Park in Up Holland.  Please spread the word to anyone you know who has indicated that they may be interested.  It is available to book via the website.

Christmas Get-Together

There are now 9 of us interested in, and available for, a get-together on Saturday 8th December – Anne, Louise, Gail, Gaynor, Julie, Lorraine, Karen and Vicki (plus me, of course).

The plan is to go for a walk, meeting at 11am, and follow it with lunch, or an Afternoon Tea at Pesto’s at Appley Bridge.  I called into the restaurant on Saturday to confirm that both options will be available from noon, so the choice is yours.  However, we have to book the numbers for Afternoon Tea a couple of days before, so you do have to decide in advance which you would like.  The menus are attached and the links to the menus on the website are below.

The associated walk will be open to all and I will publish the details when they are finalised.  If your name does not appear in the list of names above and you would like to join us for food, please let me know.

Walks Available to Book

There are currently 7 walks available to book (plus one to follow) and they are listed below.  I will be away this coming weekend, so there will not be any walks of Saturday 27th or Sunday 28th.  Sorry.  Follow the link to my website to find all of the details and photographs, and to book.
